Initially, I was a bit reluctant to try the chair, but after review of the website and
specs, I decided to take on the opportunity. I am disabled after several major
0back surgeries and have had limited mobility. I am still young mentally and
have 13 grand also able to attend some local minor league baseball games and
other grandchildren activities. Have found it easier to take I’ve adapted our
SUV with a lift (even though not required), so even without any other “people”
assistance, I can go shopping leading the parade. Because of its compact size,
I can go anywhere I want and even ride it to the sidelines at our granddaug
And, being a Vietnam Veteran, I was even offered a veteran’s discount at the
time of purchase. Attached are pictures of our attending one of our Grandson’s
wedding, and of course one with my Gal!

Due to post-polio syndrome I did a lot of searching online for an electric
wheelchair. Also did research with local medical supply stores. Electra 7
was my choice! The ability for family or friends to fold it & “ toss it” into
their vehicle keeps me moving. Besides I use Dial-A-Ride bus too. The
wheelchair is very strong, but light. In addition, I have found that your many
0videos have been informative. The ability to back up to the seat since the
foot pedal snugs up to the cushion is very helpful and was another selling
point! Thanks to my Scooter I get out to play Bingo and Mahjong, shopping
0at the mall, enjoying Lake Michigan’s Beach and eating at my favorite
restaurants. A friend has a scooter too and we visit around the neighborhood.
Yesterday we had a race and guess who won?? I love my Scooter.

I am a relatively young woman who had a massive stroke, making it difficult for
me to move quickly, or walk long distances. I chose the Electra 7 because I am
a large woman-5’10 and 250 lbs and I wanted a chair that would fit me
comfortably. The Electra 7 is a life changer for me and my family! We just fold
it up put it in the car and can travel anywhere. We have been to NYC, the
Bahamas , Las Vegas and more. It is fast (I keep up with these boys) the batteries
last the whole day. And with the big wheels I can travel over all sorts of uneven
surfaces. 0When you fly, you just take the batteries on the plane with you, zip up
the bag and check the wheelchair. I can’t recommend this wheelchair enough.

I purchased this chair four years ago or more and I can say it’s still in perfect
condition performing just like the first day I bought it. When going to the airport
I can load it on the plane with no problem and I also go through security at the
airport without any problem . Also when I travel with my car, I fold the chair and
put it in the trunk. I have an SUV and don’t have any difficulty loading it by myself
because it’s very light. I’m very satisfied with the chair and even though I’m pretty
heavy 320 pounds it goes with no problem. Basically I think this chair will outlive
me so I’m very happy with that and I’m happy.

My Electra 7 has allowed me to get out and enjoy life again. I love my Electra 7!

This chair has been a God send. I didn’t think I could travel anymore but found
that with the chair I can manage quite well and gate assistance was great. They
helped fold and put cover on while I kept the cushion and controller. The cushion
was actual very handy as airplane seats aren’t too comfortable. I bought the chair
after seeing all the great videos. I can honestly say the chair made what I thought
was impossible, possible and quite fun. My preflight questions were answered
promptly as I was nervous about the trip. Had a great time and doing a video to
help others traveling. Here’s some warm pics (was 87 degrees every day but I
came back to 27 ouch!).
Thx

I choose the Electra 7 HD because it is very user friendly. I liked the different
colors it came in and the really easy way to connect the batteries and there out
of sight. Also, it performs just as advertised. You can’t go wrong with purchasing
one.

When mobility issues (knee and back problems) limited my activities, I bought an
Electra 7 HD electric wheelchair that has greatly improved my ability to get around
downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter. I selected it for its sturdy
construction, weight capacity and ample seat width. [ The Electra 7 has been able
to deal with the rough streets and obstacle-course sidewalks and works fairly well
on grassy areas in parks and at local music festivals. The chair lets me get around
far better than a walker or rollator. I later got a Matrix carbon fiber chair that is
much lighter and easier to lift into a car. But the Electra 7 is my still main mobility
aid... it's 250-watt motors and solid construction work better than the Matrix on the
rough terrain. Top problems I've encountered are: 1. Rain puddles in the streets
have twice drained the batteries, but drying time and a recharge got me moving
again. 2. The left front wheel assembly collapsed when a nut fell off, but a local
repairman fixed that. 3. Foam pads on armrests are fragile and easily damaged
while negotiating narrow doorways. The Electra 7 and Matrix let me get around
and have a moderately active social life going to restaurants, concerts and shows.
Thank you, Discover My Mobility.

I bought this one (extra wide). It is so easy to manage. I was a shut in. I couldn’t
imagine that it would allow me to travel to a 10 day trip from California to New
York. I attended a tour of the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses as well
at the New York MET! It was absolutely amazing! It was easy to manage on the
plane. I rode right up to the gate, folded it easily, and took my plane seat. In
addition it has allowed me to go to the mall, movies, parks, amusem*nt parks,
etc. anywhere that requires legs! ?? I also love how simple it is to fold up and
put in my small trunk! I get compliments on “Little Red” wherever I go! Thanks
for such a wonderful product!!

The Electra 7 is great, there's no where I can't go even up my steep driveway. I started
putting it in my truck but it is really high so the company sent me a padded lift. WOW

The extra wide seat power wheelchair this is super light weight made of aircraft quality aluminum weighing only 50 pounds and folds up into a compact space. The Electra 7 comes standard with a 21 inch wide seat with the option of widening the armrest to 24 inches wide. Extremely strong frame with a 400 pound capacity and motors with power to spare. Big people have been asking for a portable wheelchair that will accommodate their needs and now they have it. The Electra 7 is the perfect bariatric power wheelchair for larger individuals.
Most standard wheelchairs have an upper limit of around 18 stone (114kg). Most bariatric wheelchairs, on the other hand, can support individuals weighing up to 30 stone (190kg), or sometimes up to 50 stone (317kg).
Manual bariatric wheelchairs (also referred to as bariatric or heavy-duty wheelchairs) are wheelchairs with a higher weight capacity to accommodate obese individuals with mobility impairments. The average seat sizes are between 22 and 28 inches wide, but they can go up to 30”.
Conventional wheelchairs can typically bear up to 250 lbs. However, bariatric wheelchairs provide a solution for those with weight requirements up to 1000 lbs., ensuring both independence and comfort for individuals of all body types.
Basic wheelchairs have weight limits of 250 – 350 lbs, lightweight wheelchairs have weight limits of 200 – 250 lbs, and heavy-duty wheelchairs have weight limits of 700+ lbs.
Have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher, or have a BMI between 30 and 35 and an obesity-related condition, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or severe sleep apnea. Weigh less than 450 pounds, the maximum weight that hospital radiology equipment can accommodate.
Sometimes the smallest wheelchair available is still too wide for the wheelchair user. if the wheelchair seat is too wide, the wheelchair user will find it difficult to sit upright, and is likely to collapse to one side. some simple foam inserts can help to provide the wheelchair user with support to sit upright.
The width of a wheelchair typically ranges between 25 to 36 inches. Some codes require 34-inch-wide exterior doors and 32-inch-wide interior doors. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires doorways to have a minimum of 32 inches of width with the door open.
Standard widths for wheelchairs are 16" (narrow adult), 18" (standard adult) and 20" (wide adult). Smaller widths as narrow as 8" are available for children or really small adults and wider seat widths up to 28" and beyond are available for wider adults.
In developing QUICKIE® wheelchairs, we consider how you interact with your wheelchair to maintain maximum efficiency, performance, fit, and style. Reinforced frames and durable components mean you won't have to sacrifice comfort over reliability.
If you are more than 100 pounds overweight with a BMI in excess of 30 then a bariatric wheelchair may be a good solution for your mobility needs. Typically the chairs' users may have conditions including: cardiopulmonary disease. cardiovascular disease.
Bariatric chair requirements must take into account a wide variety of body types. Typically, bariatric seating is constructed to support people who weigh at least 500 pounds comfortably. Some manufacturers build seating that can support up to 1,000 pounds, most frequently for use in a health care office environment.
This guidance relates to the safe and effective care provision of bariatric patients within both our inpatient and community settings. They either have a body mass index (BMI) and 40 kg/m² or are 40kg above ideal weight for height (NICE 2014).
There's no magic number for your weight or BMI that will determine your eligibility for benefits. Instead, the decision will be based largely on a review of your medical records.
There is no official standard for the load limit on bariatric chairs, but a 750-pound weight capacity or greater is typically preferred in healthcare settings. Many medical offices even look for bariatric chairs that can hold 1000 pounds or more.
