  This is a cartel drama. Emphasis on drama. It's a good one. Score another good performance for Ronnie Gene Blevins as a recently paroled dude who comes home, his mom is dying and he's gonna steal from local drug dealers to pay for it. But what I loved were the details involved. There's vicious violence but director Windhauser is more interested in creating drama, he may not be Mamet but manages to create some emotion through his screenplay. I liked it a lot. Period.

Так любит, что когда узнает про ее неизлечимую болезнь печени, начинает одновременно бухать и убивать барыг и сутенеров и собирать деньги на пересадку. Этим он вызывает гнев у старого криминального босса Брюса Дерна. Мелодраматичная и жестокая история искупления грехов в духе песен с "Радио Шансон" с массой якобы пронзительных сцен — за них отвечает Блевинс в баре с муклой-барменшей и ботоксная Бойл в палате с добрым медбратом Стивеном Лэнгом. То есть определенно плохое кино, но на хороших актеров посмотреть приятно. Только вот на Бойл страшновато.

  Starts off with some bonehead-pretentious promise for a B-movie, but rapidly falls apart the more characters and actors (or "actors") the film introduces, giving them too much over-written dialogue they can't handle.

  The earnest effort of Ronnie Gene Blevins is worth some respect, but the rest of this is awful, mainly in the child-brained writing. John Ashton still has a great voice, at least, and Bruce Dern is kinda funny because he's a great veteran who understands bad movies and corny dialogue.

  I didn't think this was going to be a good movie but it actually was worse. I'm not the smartest person in the world but I just don't get the point of it at all. There is no reason. IT'S HORRIBBLE. At one point they introduce you to a character at a bar which is his friend and that whole entire scene is dumb. Like the movie is just slapping you in the face over and over again. There is no reason. I guess a movie doesn't need a reason to be made but when you do make a movie at least be smart about the damn story.

  Forget all the haters out there because I enjoyed this movie more than I expected. I recognize the plot is simple, the character motivations are basic, and the proclamation of how the character can fulfill his goal is plain as day. But I liked the execution of its simplicity. The main character is a convict and a mama's boy. His mom is dying of liver failure. Her doctor says the only way to fast-track the operation for a liver transplant is to pay several thousands of dollars for the procedure to be done on the Mexican side of the border. Therefore, Mama's Boy begins wreaking havoc while raising the needed funds to save his mom.

  Death in Texas is a play-by-play on the prison break subgenre of action movies. Most of the time these films star someone we all have come accustomed to seeing in these kinds of roles or a big star trying to do something different in their careers. Death in Texas is neither of those even though it has a few supporting actors we've come to know in the past.

  A fairly competent crime thriller about a momma's boy ex-con getting into shit trying to help his momma. The most entertaining parts were Bruce Dern going full ham and Stephen Lang in a character ark that doesn't really make a lick of sense. Those two elevate this film
