Residential Trash Information
As of June 1, 2023, Waste Management holds the contract to collect trash, yard waste and recyclables from single family and two-family residences.
All collections will be made between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please place all items for collection at the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day of pickup, but no earlier than 4:00 p.m. the day prior to collection. After collection, all empty containers should be removed from the curb by 9:00 a.m. the following day.
- Recycling or trash that is outside of the bins will not be collected.
- Recycling or trash will only be collected in Waste Management bins. Owner provided bins will not be collected.
- Residents have unlimited yard waste removal year-round.
- Waste Management will provide free commercial dumpsters for city buildings and festivals.
- Residents can have one bulk item per week removed, but the item must be scheduled. Residents can schedule their bulk item pick-up by calling Waste Management at 800-964-8988.

Mobile Carts for Trash Collection
A 96-gallon mobile cart will be furnished to each residence at no additional charge. This cart may be used for trash collection only. If you would prefer a smaller 64-gallon cart or if you are unable to use a trash cart, please contact Waste Management at 800-964-8988. Additional carts are available at a rental cost of $12.00 per quarter.
Mobile Carts for Recycle Collection
A 64-gallon mobile cart will be furnished to each residence at no additional charge. This cart may be used for recycling collection only. Additional carts are available at a rental cost of $18.00 per quarter.
Mobile Carts for Yard Waste Collection
Upon request, a 64-gallon mobile cart will be furnished to each residence at no additional charge. This cart may be used for yard waste only. Additional carts are available at a rental cost of $12.00 per quarter. Organic waste will be unlimited and can be placed in any combination of Carts, Single Family Premises provided containers not exceeding 33 gallons, paper bags, or bundles of sticks no more than three feet long and three inches diameter. During the month of January, Christmas trees will be collected by the Company.
Bulky Trash Collection
One item each week and up to one item per collection at no additional charge. Cart Recipients will provide Waste Management at least five (5) business days advanced notice and the bulky waste will be commenced on the scheduled date. Additional pickups are subject to an additional fee.
Bulky collections must be scheduled in advance by visiting Waste Management's website or calling their Customer Service number at 800-964-8988.
Major Household Appliances
Large household appliances consisting of refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dryers, water heaters, trash compactors, dish washers, microwave ovens, ranges, stoves, wood stoves and air conditioners that can be easily and safely handled by two workers and do not exceed three cubic yards total volume.
This collection must be scheduled in advance by contacting Waste Management at 800-964-8988 and are subject to an additional fee.
Tires
Waste Management is no longer accepting tires as they are no longer allowed to be dumped into landfills. If you have a tire you'd like to dispose of, you can bring them to an area tire shop to have them recycled for a small fee. Dobb's Tire charges $4 per tire.
Holidays
Waste Management observes the following six holidays per year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
If the holiday falls during the business week, and it is before your pickup day, your pickup schedule will fall one day later for that week. If the holiday falls after your pickup day, or on a Saturday or Sunday, your pickup schedule will not change.

Discounts
A 10% Senior Citizen Discount is available for basic services collection and will be provided to residents in which the head of the household is 65 years or older and living at that address. Proof of age and residency is required.
Complete a discount form at the Customer Service Counter in City Hall or download one now. Forms must be returned with proof of age and residency(i.e. copy of your driver's license).
